Introduction
Syndrome characterized by:
Clinical manifestations
- hematemesis
- ascites
- splenomegaly (hypersplenism)
- esophageal varices
- large tortuous veins in the abdominal wall
- venous hum near xiphoid process may be present
- often accompanied by thrill
- hum may be increased or decreased by Valsalva maneuver
