Indications

• dilated cardiomyopathy
• congestive heart failure

Contraindications

• ineffective in patients with NYHA class IV symptoms

Procedure

• mobilization of latissimus dorsi to form a skeletal muscle wraparound the cardiac ventricles

Complications

• perioperative mortality is 20%.
