Introduction
One of 3 entities along the spectrum of obstructive sleep disordered breathing syndromes which include:
- primary snoring
- upper airway resistance syndrome
- obstructive sleep apnea
Pathology
- increased ventilatory effort
- recurrent electroencephalographic arousals
- no apnea or hypopneas
Clinical manifestations
- excessive daytime hypersomnolence
Laboratory
- quantifiable measurement of respiratory effort
