Management

• transillumination
  • if mass transilluminates
    • it is either a hydrocele or spermatocele
    • generally asymptomatic
    • may cause discomfort if large
    • surgical excision
    • aspiration not useful because the recur
    • ultrasound not necessary
  • if mass does not transilluminate
    • ultrasound of mass
    • referral to urology
