Introduction
Irritant-induced asthma.
Etiology
- acute, accidental inhalation of smoke or toxic levels of chemical irritants
Clinical manifestations
- after initial exposure, patients develop hyper-reactive airways & chronic asthma
- cough & wheezing may begin within hours of exposure
