Introduction
Unproven method used to guide immunotherapy.
Procedure
- serial intradermal testing is performed with various dilutions of allergen
- based upon the end point dilution dividing positive vs. negative response, optimal doses of allergen as chosen for immunotherapy
Notes
- dose of allergen chosen by this method is rarely large enough for effective immunotherapy
- no more effective than placebo for treating allergic rhinitis
