Etiology

• generally results from deep mycotic infections in immuno- compromised hosts
• self-limited polyarthritis rarely accompanies primary infection in immunologically intact hosts

Laboratory

• joint aspiration with culture
• culture of tissue obtained elswhere

Management

• systemic anti-fungal agent
• debridement
