Introduction
Increased uric acid in the urine. It may occur as a result of hyperuricemia & may result in acute uric acid nephropathy or in formation of uric acid stones. Also associated with 20% of calcium-based urinary stones[2].
Epidemiology
male:female ratio 4:1
Laboratory
- 24 hour urine uric acid
- > 750 mg/24 hours women
- > 800 mg/24 hours men
