Epidemiology
- primarily affects young women
Pathology
- norepinephrine abnormality consistent with partial sympathetic denervation in the legs (low neuronal stores & impaired release)
Clinical manifestations
- orthostatic symptoms that occur upon standing
- lightheadedness
- dimming of vision
- anxiety
- tachycardia
- NO decrease in blood pressure
