Bankart lesion

Introduction

A tear of the anterior glenoid labrum accompanying detachment of the inferior glenohumeral ligament.

Epidemiology

• 85% of traumatic anterior shoulder dislocations

Pathology

• stretching of the anterior capsule from the inferior glenohumeral ligament
• labrum is pulled from the inferior 1/2 of the anterior rim of the glenoid

• MRI of shoulder

• surgery
