Introduction
A twisting of the intestine.
Etiology
- iatrogenic (during colonoscopy)
- cecum on a long mesentery
Pathology
- intestinal obstruction
- intestinal ischemia
- cecum, sigmoid colon & stomach are common sites
Clinical manifestations
- vomiting bilious or feculent emesis
- abdominal distension
