Introduction
A peritonic diverticulum in the embryonic lower anterior abdominal wall that traverses the inguinal canal.
In males:
- forms the tunica vaginalis testis & normally loses its connection with the peritoneal cavity
In females:
- a persistent process, known as the canal of Nuck
