Notes
- well-child visits should not include routine urinalysis for asymptomatic patients
- repeat abnormal urine dipstick analysis prior to work up for hematuria or proteinuria (urine dipstick false-positives)
- follow-up urine culture not indicated for asymptomati patients following treatment of urinary tract infection
- repeat blood pressure measurements 3 times at one visit & at 2 more visits to document chronic hypertension in asymptomatic patients
- consult pediatric nephrology prior to insertion of central lines in children & adolescents with chronic renal failure or end-stage renal disease
