Introduction
Neuroectoderm in the embryo that arises from the dorsal surface of the neural folds or neural tube. This tissue leaves the neural folds or neural tube & differentiates into tissue that gives rise to:
- dorsal root ganglia
- autonomic ganglia
- chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla
- Schwann cells
- sensory ganglia of cranial nerves CN-5, CN-9 & CN-10
- part of the meninges
- melanocytes
