• chronic otitis media resulting in mastoiditis
• cholesteoma

Procedure

• surgical resection of the mastoid process & mastoid air cells
• one of several surgical procedures on the mastoid process of the temporal bone & middle ear
• may be performed in conjunction with tympanoplasty (see tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy)
