Introduction
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation lights installed in the ventilation system of a high-rise office building reduced surface microbial contamination of the ventilation system, but failed to affect office air samples significantly. Nonetheless, workers blinded to the intervention still reported fewer mucosal & respiratory symptoms, especially women, non-smokers & those with allergies.
