Introduction

A dilated sac at the end of the thoracic duct into which the intestinal trunk & two lumbar lymphatic trunks open.

  • occurs inconsistently
  • if present, located posterior to the aorta on the anterior aspect of the bodies of the 1st & 2nd lumbar vertebrae
