Introduction
A broad groove in the posterior cranial fossa on the lateral portion of the occipital bone. The groove later curves around the jugular process on to the mastoid portion of the temporal bone & on to the posterior inferior angle of the parietal bone; become continuous with the transverse groove in the end.
