Introduction
Two dilated parts of the internal jugular vein (IJV).
Superior bulb (Heister diverticulum):
- a dilation at the begining of the IJV in the jugular fossa of the temporal bone
Inferior bulb:
- a dilated portion of the IJV just before it reaches the brachiocephalic vein
