Introduction
Short term, temporary care provided to people with disabilities to provide caregivers a break from the daily routine of caregiving.
Goals of respite care:
- reduction of caregiver stress
- enabling a caregiver to take vacation
Respite services for the elderly are typically for period of 2 weeks.
