Introduction
A thin submucosal sheet of connective tissue that connects the border of the epiglottic cartilage to the arytenoid & corniculate cartilages.
Superior part:
- thickened inferiorly to form the vestibular ligament, which is covered loosely by the vestibular fold
Inferior part:
- the cricothyroid ligament (conus elasticus) begins inferiorly as the median cricothyroid ligament & ends as the vocal ligament
Between the vocal & vestibular ligaments the membrane lined with mucous membrane is evaginated to form the wall of the ventricle.
