Introduction

Design:

primary endpoint: 30 day operative mortality or moderate-severe complication

Results:

  • primary endpoint reached in 24% of open repair vs 18% of endovascular repair patients
  • procedure related mortality was 4.6% in open repair group vs 1.2% in endovascular repair group
  • cardiac & pulmonary complications occurred significantly more often after open repair
  • vascular complications occurred more often after endovascular repair
