Indications
- dehydration from:
- viral gastroenteritis (safe & effective)
- perspiration & other fluid losses from physical activity
Management
- Pedialyte is hydration fluid of choice for infants & children
- rehydration with water for most sports-related activities
- rehydration with sports drinks should be limited to prolonged, vigorous physical activity[2]
