Introduction
A tendency, disposition or impulse of an individual to act in an organized & biologically adaptive manner characteristic of its species. Instinct includes the impulse to perform some purposeful action without immediate consciousness of the consequence(s) of that action. Instinct(s) generally confer a survival advantage.
