Indications
Procedure
- delivers several thousand small burns to the periphery of the retina which results in avascular scarring & shriveling of the vessels
- this results in more blood flow for the central part of the retina in order to preserve central vision, binocular vision & depth perception
Complications
- deterioration of peripheral vision
- decreased night vision
