Etiology
Management
- wound debridement of necrotic tissue will address the bacterial burden but will not remove all anaerobic bacteria
- low-quality evidence suggests that systemic antibiotics will improve wound odor[1]
- palliative management with topical metronidazole for anaerobic bacteria causing the foul odor[1][2]
