Epidemiology
- more common in elderly pathology:
- interspinous bursitis
- degenerative changes of the bones & soft tissues
- adjacent spinous processes in the lumbar spine rub against each other
- L4-L5 most commonly involved, but has been reported in cervical spine clinical manifestations:
- low back pain
