Genes with increased expression in fresh human postmortem brain tissue.
Expression
- within a few hours of death, a selective reduction of neuronal activity-dependent transcripts occurs with relative preservation of housekeeping gene transcripts
- time-dependent increase in astroglial & microglial gene expression continues for at least 24 hours after resection of brain tissue
