Structure
- immediately adjacent to the distal urethra in females
- empty through ducts, bilaterally just outside the urethral meatus
Pathology
- a cyst may form if a duct is obstructed, generally from infection
- most cysts < 1 cm & asymptomatic
- when enlarged, cysts may cause urethral obstruction or recurrent urinary tract infections or may cause an abscess[1]
