Indications
- method used to quantify insulin resistance & beta-cell function
Procedure
- uses fasting serum glucose & serum insulin
- HOMA2 uses fasting serum glucose & serum insulin or C-peptide in serum
- the raw data is process with computer software
Interpretation
- HOMA-IR: [[[A475260|serum glucose]]]* x [serum insulin] / 405
- HOMA-beta: 360 x [serum insulin] / ([[[A475260|serum glucose]]] - 63)
* serum glucose in mg/dL
