Introduction

A 5 step quality improvement approach used with the Six Sigma model.

The process tends to focus on quality control in each step rather than overall system function & efficiency

Procedure

• Define: involves developing objectives of the project.
• Measure: baseline data on the number & types of defects within the system are measured
• Analyze: uses the collected data to assess the magnitude of effects
• Improve: implementation of tools to improve the process
• Control: future processes are controlled to sustain gains
