Introduction

Establish at the VA to fulfill need to ensure detection & reporting of computer security incidents as quickly as possible with minimal impact. functions:

• serve as a central clearinghouse for all reported incidents, security alerts & notifications
• ensure additional resources as needed
• coordinate effective notification & response for all incidents
