Etiology

  • idiopathic
    • occurs sporadically in people with no family history

Epidemiology

  • rare

Clinical manifestations

  • laxity of skin
  • decreased recoil of skin
  • any part of the body can be affected
    • skin of the neck & extremities most commonly involved

Management

  • no specific therapy
  • hyperlaxity of skin often returns following surgery
