  • higher mortality risk in single fathers than partnered fathers or single or partnered mothers[1]
    • mortality rates:
      • single fathers: 5.8 per 1000 person-years
      • partnered fathers: 1.9 per 1000 person-years
      • single mothers: 1.7 per 1000 person-years
      • partnered mothers: 1.2 per 1000 person-years[1]
