Indications
- oliguric acute renal failure with hemodynamic instability*
- useful for treatment of metabolic acidosis, uremia, electrolyte disorders & volume overload[1]
* critically ill, unstable patients
Procedure
- hemodialysis performed continuously, 24 hours/day
- slower rate of solute & fluid removal than with intermittent hemodialysis[1]
