Pathology

• large cyst-like cavities containing lymph

Clinical manifestations

• usually affects children
• rarely, presents in adulthood
• most common in the left posterior triangle of the neck & axilla
• cystic hygromas can grow very large

Complications

• may affect breathing & swallowing
