Introduction
The time it takes for laser-irradiated tissue to lose 50% of its incident heat without conducting heat to the surrounding tissue.
In dermatologic laser surgery, pulsing the laser beam in short bursts with duration close to the thermal relaxation time facilitates destruction without scarring.
