Introduction

The change in electrical resistance across an aperture when a particle in a conductive liquid passes through.

The Coulter automated hematology analyzer is an example of a laboratory instrument using electrical impedance to enumerate leukocytes, erythrocytes & platelets in the complete blood count (CBC).
