  • press releases from healthcare institutions may exaggerate findings & lack appropriate caveats[1]
    • 42% of press releases contain more direct or explicit advice than the associated journal articles
    • for nonhuman studies, 1/3 of press releases contain inflated claims regarding implications for humans[1]
