Etiology

• sudden deceleration with the foot planted & the knee flexed

Epidemiology

• middle-aged people who play running or jumping sports

Clinical manifestations

• patella alta
• inability to actively extend knee

Management

• a complete tear is diabling & repairs surgical repair (suture of infrapatellar tendon)
