Indications
- paraplegia due to spinal cord injury
Clinical significance
- allows paraplegics to sit, stand, & walk with help from a caregiver
Procedure
- a metal brace supports the legs & part of the upper body
- motors allow movement at the hips, knees, & ankles
- tilt sensor
- a backpack holds a computer & power supply.
- a wireless remote control on the wrist is used to command ReWalk to stand, sit, or walk
- crutches are also used for extra support
