Epidemiology

• more common in women than men
• individual usually tall & thin

Pathology

• abnormal downward displacement of the stomach
• not life-threatening

Clinical manifestations

• may be asymptomatic
• belching
• abdominal distension
• constipation

Radiology

• upper GI series with barium contrast

Management

• physical exercises to strengthen the abdominal muscles
• massage manipulations
