Etiology
- Corynebacterium tenuis
Epidemiology
- may be associated with contact with stray cats
Pathology
- superficial bacterial colonization of the hair shafts in areas on skin containing sweat glands (axilla, groin)
Clinical manifestations
- yellow, orange, black or red granular nodules, coatings, concretions that stick to the hair shaft
- asymptomatic
Management
- shave affected hair
- antiperspirant deodorant
