Medicare Risk Adjustment (MRA)

Introduction

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses a formula to adjust payments to account for plans that pay and providers who care for sicker patients. They use the Hierarchical Condition Categories as the model to make those payment adjustments.
