Drug interactions
- coadministration of theophylline with fluvoxamine (CYP1A2 inhibitor), increases serum concentration of theophylline & potentiates its toxicity
- CYP1A2 inhibition of fluvoxamine may be 10-fold greater in vivo than in vitro[1]
Management
- select antidepressant other than fluvoxamine for patients on theophylline
