Pathology

  • white opacification around the anterior & posterior Y sutures, & grayish & bluish, spindle shaped, oval punctate & cerulean opacities of various sizes arranged in lamellar form
  • spots are more concentrated towards the peripheral layers
  • phenotypic variation with respect to the size & density of the sutural opacities as well as the number & position of punctate & cerulean spots is observed among affected subjects

Genetics

  • associated with defects in CRYBB2
