Etiology
Pathology
- lingual frenulum with excessive attachment to the bottom of the tongue
Clinical manifestations
- presents in infancy
- bottom of the tongue is attached to the floor of the mouth
- restricts movement of the tip of the tongue
Complications
- rarely associated with speech impairment or dysphagia
Management
- surgery is seldom necessary
- frenulotomy
