Indications
- a visual means by which a patient can quantify pain
- a vertical visual analog scale is used to assess dyspnea
- assessment of mood & anxiety
- functional assessment in rheumatoid arthritis
Procedure
- the patient marks a point corresponding to the intensity of his pain on a line, one end of which represents no pain & the other end, severe, incapacitating pain.
the vertical visual analog scale to assess dyspnea & other indications is assessed similarly
