Subjects:

  • 451 patients with recent TIA or ischemic stroke
  • enrollment was stopped because the 30-day rate of stroke or death was 14.7% in the stent group vs 5.8% in the medical management group

Results:

  • 1-year rates of stroke or death 20.0% in the stent group & 12.2% in the medical management group
