Classification

• oligodontia: agenesis of 6 or more permanent teeth
• hypodontia: agenesis of less than 6 teeth
• does not include absence of 3rd molars (wisdom teeth)

• associated with defects in EDA

• selective tooth agenesis without associated systemic disorder
